DUBLIN, Calif., November 13, 2008: The International Sybase User Group is pleased to announce a new level of membership - the "Academic" level. There are two packages available containing basic slots for 25 and 50 students. Each package also includes a full gold membership for the class professor or teacher.
"We believe this is a great way to get information about Sybase and its products into the next generation of Sybase users," commented Bryan Enochs, President of ISUG. "In the coming months, we look forward to working with more schools and colleges to assist them with their needs."
ISUG is also pleased to announce that their first membership at the new Academic level is the Red River College located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Red River College hosted a recent user group event in the city.
"This package gives students a chance to experience and see the value of a 'real world' user group and how it works," said Mr. Bake. "It also has shown the students that even though people may work for different corporations, there is a willingness to share knowledge amongst professionals, and that help is only a click away."
Pricing and Availability
The Academic packages are available immediately and are priced at $195 and $295 respectively.

ISUG Journal Authors Receive Award from Industry Peers to Honor Editorial Contribution to ISUG Journal
Every year, the International Sybase User Group recognizes the authors of the top articles featured in the ISUG Technical Journal.
For 2008, ISUG gathered every technical article written for the journal in 2007 and placed them in one of two categories: Data Management and Design & Development. ISUG members were then asked to vote for their favorites in each category.
Based on this year's voting results, ISUG President Bryan Enochs and ISUG Executive Director Mike Harrold announced the winners during the ASE and PowerBuilder plenary sessions at Sybase TechWave 2008.
The winners of the 2008 ISUG Technical Journal awards were:
"It is fantastic that John Strano has been recognized for his efforts in the Sybase community," commented ISUG President Bryan Enochs. "While John does work for Sybase, everyone who has had the opportunity to hear John speak and see his presentations knows that John's passion for Sybase and PowerBuilder in particular is second to none."
"It was a pleasure to present the Data Management award to the authors of an article that was head and shoulders above all others in the voting in the Data Management Category," said ISUG Executive Director Mike Harrold. "This clearly shows how much our members appreciate the information provided to them by these well known ASE experts."
Please join us in congratulating all of this year's winners!
